Truly a family affair in the tradition of old world Italian eateries, Hilton Head Island residents Tony and Becky Fazzini opened Michael Anthony’s Cucina Italiana in January of 2002. Now celebrating their 15th year in business, Michael Anthony’s has been recognized by Open Table diners as one of the “Top 50 Italian Restaurants” in the United States!
The Fazzini family, originally from the Philadelphia area, longed for the quaint authentic Italian eateries found in the Italian neighborhoods around the Philadelphia area which were modeled after the trattorias of the small towns of Italy. It was a desire to offer this fine cuisine, paired with some of the best wines in the world, in a more contemporary upscale environment that launched what is now recognized as one of the finest restaurants in the region.

Michael Anthony’s Cucina Italiana offers casual fine dining and an unforgettable culinary experience. The freshest ingredients are used for handmade pastas, succulent veal, daily selections of fresh fish and house-made desserts.
?Acknowledged by food and wine enthusiasts and critics alike, the restaurant presents a fine-dining experience combining an award-winning wine list, exquisite food, attentive service and the personal touch of a family-owned restaurant serving the Lowcountry since 2002.
In addition to the regular dining menu, they offer an Early Dining prix-fixe menu from 5:15pm until 5:45pm featuring smaller portions for those with lighter appetites.
For a fun, festive and interactive dining experience, try the “Sips and Bites” menu at the bar from 5:00pm until 6:00pm. This menu changes weekly and consists of three small plate tastings paired with three premium Italian wines.
What defines a good team is talent and commitment which is in plentiful supply at Michael Anthony’s. In business since 2002, the restaurant still maintains a large number of associates who have been with the restaurant since the opening. With the passing of time there have been many additions to the team but the thread that runs through them all is the promise of quality and consistency along with passion and professionalism.
The team currently has four culinary school graduates and a culinary staff that collectively has over 150 years of fine dining experience. There are four trained sommeliers that are involved daily in the selections of wines for the Wine Spectator award winning list in addition to assisting customers with their wine selections. The wait staff is well trained in all aspects of the dining experience and the bartenders are well versed in today’s popular spirits and mixology techniques.
Clearly it is this group of 35 polished professionals that are the heartbeat of Michael Anthony’s, brimming with enthusiasm and offering knowledgeable service and unparalleled hospitality.
